Kelly’s a Jersey Gal

Friday, October 12th, 2007

TGIF, gang!

I don’t know about you, but this week has been one hellofa week! Let’s just say that I am really happy that the weekend is coming up! Does anyone have plans to go to the concert tonight in Atlantic City, NJ at the Borgata Hotel Casino? I hope that you all have fun, and that you have some meet and greet passes so you can see her! Also, this Sunday night, she will be singing in New York City, New York, at the Beacon Theatre for three nights in a row! As a member of her fan club, I have seen that some of you have won meet and greet passes to see her, and I could not be happier for you all!

I was searching through Kelly’s online store for her new tour merchandise, and I must admit that I think this tour has the best shirts yet! I always like buying tour shirts from the concerts that I attend. Come to think of it, I think that tour shirts are really the only thing that I buy. If you attend a concert, do you buy souvenirs? If so, what do you purchase?

I have been searching the net for concert pics that people have released from her first concert night on Wednesday in Verona and to no avail so far! My next plan is to ask if anyone in the fan club would have pictures that they are willing to share on here! I know that you all would love to see them, too!

I hope that you all have a happy and safe weekend! Here’s something to make you smile over the weekend! :)

Kelly’s a Grand Slam

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

Happy Thursday, Gang!

Tour is well under way, and I hope that those of you that were at the concert last night had a great time!!! Kelly is off today, and shipping out to Atlantic City, where she will perform tomorrow night at the Borgata Hotel and Casino. I hope that you have your tickets to go!

Speaking of concert, I am wondering who all has been to Kelly’s concerts? I think that I may have asked this before, and if I have, forgive me…but if you have been to her concerts before, which one was your favorite, and why? What did you like to so much about that concert that it was better than the rest?

Speaking of concerts, Kelly also performed at the Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation’s 12 Annual Grand Slam for Children in Las Vegas ( wow, say THAT five times fast! LOL) last week. I think that is something that I just love about Kelly…that no matter what, even when she is busy, that she makes sure that she donates some of her time to charitable organizations. Although many celebrities donate to charities, I think that she just does it with so much style and grace, and you never hear her flaunting about how she did any of it. THAT, my friends, is not only classy, but what a true celebrity is all about!

Here’s a picture of Kelly from the event last week! She always looks so great!

kelly-andre.jpg

I hope that you all have a great Thursday! Don’t forget, if you have been to a show, or are heading to a concert, that you make the time to say to tell us how it went!

Until next time, gang! Peace!

Tonight’s the Night!!!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

I hope that you all have had a great week so far! Today is only bound to get better, as Kelly kicks off her My December tour tonight, in Verona, NY, as I blogged about here. I hope that you all get the opportunity to go and see her, and possibly meet her with a meet and greet, courtesy of the fan club! I can’t wait to hear all of your stories, too, about how the concert went! Also, make sure that you check with Ticketmaster to see if there are still tickets that are available in your area, in case you have not snatched up any tickets already! It is sure to be an awesome tour!

Are YOU going to any of her concerts? If so, which one? Are you going with friends? By yourself? We wanna know! You can tell us all about it in the comment section below!

Also, don’t forget that the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kelly has teamed up with Ford for their Warriors in Pink program, and is their spokesperson. If you check out their MySpace page, it mentions the Warriors in Pink program! You can add them as a friend, and see exclusive footage of Kelly promoting the program…footage that can not be seen anywhere else!

Also, if there are any Tom Green fans out there, check out my OTHER blog here at 451 Press, www.TomGreenWatch.com. It is updated on the same days as this blog, and is sure to bring you some laughs!

I hope that those of you that go to the concert tonight, have an AWESOME time! Rock on!

Until tomorrow, gang! Peace!

One Day to Go!

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

kelly-smile-radio.jpg

I hope that you all are recouping well from the Turkey extravaganza (for our Canadian friends), and from any shopping that you may have done with the Columbus Day sales. The work week is back in swing, but at least it will be a short one, this week!

Are you all getting ready for Kelly and her My December tour? She is getting ready to hit the road this week, with her first how is tomorrow! Are you going to the show, as talked about here? How excited are you??!!?? I hope that you all take the time to tell us how your experience went! Of course, if you have any videos or pictures that you want to share from the concert, I am happy to put them here on the blog! I know that all of us are excited for her concert! I am sure that it will receive great reviews!

So yesterday, we talked about paying it forward by doing things such as sharing a smile with a stranger. What have you all done to help pay it forward? Have you volunteered at a local shelter to hand out food? Have you donated blood to your local Red Cross? think that it is great to tell people how we have helped others, as it is often encouragement for others to do the same.

I hope that you all have a great day! I am so excited for those of you that get to see Kelly tomorrow night! I can’t wait to hear all about it!

Until tomorrow gang! Peace!

Sharing a Smile

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Happy Monday, everyone!

I hope that you all are enjoying the Columbus Day holiday as well as Thanksgiving today! What did you all do? I did nothing fun, other than work on articles!

As I posted in a the Warrior In Pink blog last week, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Did you know that men can also receive breast cancer? Therefore, it is very important to make sure that you give yourself a breast exam when you can. For women, you can conduct a self-breast exam in the shower. If you feel any lumps in your breasts, no matter how big or small, make sure that you are proactive and make a schedule to see your doctor so they can check it out. In some instances, it may be normal, as it a mass of tissue ( this is true when a female is on her menstrual cycle). One in 7 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. I have known 3 women in my life, all who are dear to me, who have had breast cancer, and were lucky enough to catch it early on. Ok, so why all of this talk about breast cancer? Because Kelly is the spokeswoman for Ford’s Warrior In Pink program, that’s why!

She is also working with the Salvation Army for their Season of Need program. What have YOU done lately that helped others? What have you done to “pay it forward”? Even sharing a smile with a stranger can make a world of a difference for many people, and best of all, it is free. As a matter of fact, here is a picture of Kelly showing off her famous smile:

kelly-smile.jpg

There! Now, didn’t that make YOU feel better?

I hope that you all have a great day today! Give thanks for everything that you are grateful for and watch your rewards come back to you ten fold!

See you all back here tomorrow!

Until then! Peace!

Don’t Waste Your Time Video

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

kelly.jpgHappy Sunday, gang!

I hope that you all have had a great weekend so far! The weekend is indeed almost over, but thank goodness tomorrow is Columbus Day ( and Thanksgiving Day for our Canadian friends), so I think that a lot of people will have the day off! Woohoo!

I am sure that you all have pretty much worn out your copies of My December by now ( I know that mine is on constant repeat! LOL), so I would like to know what your favorite song is, and why? I am keen to Never Again, Sober, and One Minute. I love all of her stuff, though, so I am not trying to make favorites in the least bit! LOL

Speaking of songs from her My December album, have you all checked out her “Don’t Waste My Time” video? I found it on YouTube (it wasn’t hard to find at all!) and wanted to share it with all of you. Enjoy!

I LOVE the video…I love her in that dress! Of course, she is a total knock out, no matter what! And yes, it is very Evanescence, as someone commented on YouTube…well, that is because the producer that has worked with Evanescence has worked with Kelly in the past on her Breakaway album, and I think that it has trickled into the music videos that we are seeing now!

Also, if you are a frequent reader of this blog, and of course, you’re a fan of Kelly’s, you’ll know that her concerts are so close to starting! As I mentioned on this blog, the first concert is THIS WEDNESDAY, October 10, in Verona, NY at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. If you are in the area, there may still be some last minute tickets that you can pick up, so make sure that you do!

I hope that you all have a great weekend! See you all tomorrow!

Until then…peace!

Breaking Kelly News

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Breaking Kelly News, gang!

As promised, if there is ever any breaking Kelly news, I am going to bring it here to you all! Thanks to Kelly Clarkson Roks (whose MySpace page can be seen here) we have found out that our gal Kelly is going to be the headline performer for the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show! How exciting is that?!? I know that I am stoked about it! This means that we should all have the opportunity to be able to see Kelly perform on Thanksgiving Day! Woot!

Kelly Clarkson has been announced as “Headline Performer” for the “Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Halftime Show!”

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has announced that two-time Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson will perform live during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day halftime show! The November 22nd halftime concert will officially kick off the annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas fundraiser, the nation’s largest holiday charitable fundraising drive. The nationally televised live event at Texas Stadium will be broadcast during halftime of the Cowboys match-up against the New York Jets.

Each year the Dallas Cowboys and The Salvation Army encourage Americans to help those less fortunate by donating to The Salvation Army Red Kettles throughout the holiday season. As part of the 2007 celebration, Clarkson will perform songs from her latest album, My December, including the top-ten Billboard Hot 100 single, “Never Again”, to help to raise money in the kettles for holiday toys, coats and many other Salvation Army social services. She will also serve as honorary chairperson of the campaign, which will run nationally from Friday, November 23rd through Christmas Eve, December 24th.

salvation-army.jpg

Although it is early in the year still for Thanksgiving, there are those who go hungry every day. As the slogan for Salvation Army states, “Need Knows No Season”. I couldn’t agree more. A fellow 451 Blogger, Beth Turnage, who writes for the Astrology Explored blog, has decided to create an idea for November about “Poverty and Power”. I think that this is an excellent idea, and am glad that Kelly is using her power to help promote the needs of those that are in poverty. I, too, have worked with the Salvation Army, and I know that it is a very reputable charity that helps to feed millions of families every day. There is no better time to help those that are in need than today, so take the time to do something special to help those that are less fortunate than you. The power of
paying it forward” is an awesome experience to see! Keep checking back here, too, for additional updates about Kelly and how she is helping out those that are less fortunate, thanks to the Salvation Army!

I hope that you all have a great day!

Until next time! Peace!

Warrior in Pink

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

Happy Thursday, everyone!

I hope that your week has been going well! As I mentioned on Tuesday’s blog, this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Did you all know that our girl Kelly is working with Ford for the Warrior’s in Pink program? Didja didja? Well, she is! If you go to the Ford website, you can check out the video of Kelly supporting the Ford Warrior in Pink program! Here’s a cute picture of the Ford Warrior in Pink logo shirt from their Ford website page!

fc_kelly_imggrp_must_on.jpg

If you go to their website, you can see a great video of Kelly sporting the shirt, as well as a short clip of her talking! She ROCKS the shirt out, people! Also, for those of you with a MySpace account, you can swing by and add the Warrior in Pink page to your friends! Check out their MySpace page here!

Kelly is back in the United States after promoting her My December tour in Australia! She is only getting a short amount of time to recoup before she is out on the road touring! I hope that everyone has purchased a ticket to see our girl! The first concert date is set for October 10, in Verona, NY at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino. For those of you that are member of Kelly’s fan club, and are going to this show, make sure that you check out her website to see how you can have the opportunity to win meet and greet passes to see Kelly backstage! How cool would that be??

Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to check out the Ford website! There are some great downloadable ideas on there for their Warriors In Pink shirts!

Until next time, gang! Peace!

American Idol and Giving Thanks

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Happy Wednesday/Hump Day, everyone!

It seems as though Kelly has been all over the map in Australia, jet setting from here to there and performing “ Never Again ” on all of the local television stations as well as conducting some talk show sessions. How DOES she do it all? LOL

kelly-in-australia.jpgKelly performing on “Sunrise” in Australia this past Monday

I don’t know about you all, but I can not wait until the next season of American Idol ! I am not sure if each season gets a little bit better than the season before, or perhaps it is the strange factor ( think: William Hung) that intrigues me, but I am GLUED to American Idol when it is on! I have even hooked others to the show, too! Of course, not one can top our gal, Kelly, so they can have away at trying to be “the” American Idol, but no one comes close to her! All I can say is that I thank God on a daily basis that Kelly was on that show and won! What would we do without her burning up the radio charts? LOL For those of you that are American Idol junkies like I am, make sure that you stop by my fellow blogger’s blog here on the 451 Press circuit! Reed Dunn does a great job keeping all of us informed on the latest American Idol information over on his American Idol blog!! Also, take note of the new link in the sidebar to the right for his blog!

I would also like to send a very special “thank you” to those of you who heard my calling for donations for the Down’s Syndrome Buddy Walk, as posted on this blog last week. My friend and her son’s team had a set goal of raising $7,500. Well, gang, they shot right past that, and raised $8,000! I am so happy and proud of Team Alex! Go Team Alex, Go!

Wishing you all a great day! Until next time!

Peace!

Check Yourself

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

Hello, gang! I hope that you all have been having a great week so far!

There are some new adjustments that are in order here at 451 Press, so you may notice a few changes in the blogs that I write. For starters, there are no longer any limits as to when I blog, as long as there are so many blogs per month. So, I may miss a weekday of posting on here, and end up sending you all information on the weekend. The good news is that although there may be some changes, I am certainly not going anywhere! :)

I hope that those of you that live in Australia had a good taste of Kelly while she was in your area promoting her upcoming tour! This week will kick off her My December tour! How excited is everyone???!!?? I know that she is going to rock this concert, as she has so many times in the past! I am happy to see that her single “Never Again” is still rocking the charts! I know that I love to listen to the song on my iPod while I am working out! It is a great motivator!

I wanted to share with you all another blog that is located here on 451 Press. My fellow blogger, Karen Lynch, has added us as a link to her breast cancer awareness site! Why? Because Kelly has supported Ford with their Warrior’s in Pink program! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so it is important that you make sure to give yourself regular breast exams (yes, although it is rare, men can get breast cancer, too!). The statistics are staggering for those that are afflicted with breast cancer, as well as those that know someone who has been affected by it. Take the time to check yourself!

I wish you all a wonderful Tuesday!

Until next time! Peace!
