‘Beautiful Disaster’ was originally recorded for and released on Kelly’s debut album Thankful. While a good song on its own it wasn’t until Kelly toned it down to just her voice and a piano that the song became a true reward to those who listened. Between her lyrical interpretation, vocal phrasing and sheer emotion Kelly takes us on a sonic joyride that brings tears to even my chronically dry eyes. Fan reaction was so intense that Kelly decided to add this version (recorded from her Independent Tour) onto the Breakaway album.

‘Beautiful Disaster’, while never released as a single, remains one of Kelly’s career centerpieces and signature songs to many of her fans. It’s a secret treasure I hope more can discover.
